Kinesiology is system of natural health care which combines muscle monitoring with the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine to assess energy and body function, applying a range of gentle yet powerful healing techniques to improve health, wellbeing and vitality.
Kinesiology uses muscle monitoring to identify imbalances in the body's structural, biochemical or emotional state, to establish the body's priority healing needs, and to evaluate energy changes brought about by a broad spectrum of therapeutic procedures.
Kinesiology is a non-invasive method, using precision muscle feedback and body awareness that can help you to reduce stress and pain, improve your performance at school, work and home, in sports, in relationships, and promotes health and wellbeing.
In seeking underlying causes, rather than just treating overt health problems, Kinesiology remains faithful to the ancient health model that health problems are the outcome of blocked energy flow, or communication within and between body systems.
Do you have pain? Have you ever wondered why pain exists well beyond the injury? Pain is a signal from your body to tell you something. It might be telling you that some of your muscles are now not working properly. It may be telling you that you are putting your body under too much pressure. It could be telling you that you are low in some vitamins or minerals.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you wake at 3.30am each morning and wondered why? Do you have allergies to foods or other substances? Are medications the answer to mask your symptoms, or would it be better to address the cause of the issue? Kinesiology ‘listens’ to these symptoms as your body trying to help you - trying to communicate with you. Rather than treat the symptom, kinesiology will treat the cause. Your body is trying to say something... listen to it!
How many treatments will I need?
This depends on your individual needs. You may only need one session to deal with a single issue, or you might need a series of treatments, particularly if your issues are more complex. You and Peter will discuss and tailor your treatment plan at your initial session.
How often will I need treatment?
Again, this depends on your individual needs. You may need treatment every week or fortnight for a period, and then you can extend your treatments to months or even years.
How long does it take for a treatment?
A full Kinesiology balance will take from 1 hour to 1 ½ hours.
Your first treatment will take an extra ½ hour to complete a full history.
What happens in a Kinesiology treatment?
Peter will first take a full medical and lifestyle history. You remain fully clothed in a Kinesiology session. Peter will place your arms, legs or head into specific positions and then apply a light pressure. This is called muscle monitoring and Peter will be feeling for a range of responses from your body.
The quality of response to this pressure determines whether or not there is an imbalance in the muscle-organ-meridian circuit. Muscle monitoring does not measure the raw physical strength - imbalances show up in everyone, it is not a sign of weakness but rather a communication from your body.
Muscle monitoring gives Peter information and feedback from your body about its’ condition. Since our bodies accumulate imbalances in a certain order, they will return to health quicker if the imbalances are treated in a certain order. Through the muscle monitoring, Peter can assess the order in which to treat the imbalances. Often, once a priority imbalance has been treated, you will see that other related imbalances disappear immediately.
Based on feedback from the muscles, you and Peter can discover exactly what is involved in your imbalances and devise a treatment plan. It may include lymphatic drainage, adrenal support, colour therapy, nutritional supplements, various physical or emotional stress release techniques, light therapy, Bach Flower Remedies, acupressure, gentle structural realignment, chakra balancing, light touch, firm reflex massage, mineral therapy, suggested lifestyle changes, moxibustion, laser stimulation, magnetic therapy, aromatherapy and more. The exact treatment you receive depends on the feedback your body gives through the muscle monitoring about what it needs to return to health.
